Our Big Move...

This map shows the location of the new premises.

We’re Moving …

Our surgery move to new premises is now imminent.  Our last day in the current building will be Friday 24th April 2009 and the first day in the new building will be Monday 27th April 2009.  As we will be changing our computer system at the same time, we will be restricting surgery appointments and home visits to URGENT ONLY for the week before and the week after the move, that is week commencing 20th April and week commencing 27th April.

Appointments in the week before and the week after the move:

There will be no pre-book routine appointments available for these two weeks and we would be grateful if people would avoid trying to contact us for routine matters during the two weeks.  If you need to see the doctor as an emergency, there will be a number of emergency only clinics running throughout the week.  It is unlikely that you will get a choice of doctor though, it will be whoever is doing the emergencies that day.

Repeat prescriptions:

If your repeat prescription is due during those weeks, please request an extra month on the one before that.  We might also issue you with two scripts, one of which will probably be post dated.  You can order repeat prescriptions via the link on this website <link>

ALL REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS DURING THIS TIME WILL REQUIRE OUR MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS NOTICE (OVER WORKING DAYS).

Our new address will be:

Palatine Group Practice

Palatine Health Centre

Strang Corner Field

Braddan

IM2 3TD

THE TELEPHONE NUMBER AND THE FAX NUMBER WILL STAY THE SAME.

How to get to the new surgery: The surgery is located behind the Newlands (Ward 20) building on the edge of the hospital site.

 Palatine Doctors - New Premises

By Car:

From the Douglas to Peel Road, take the turning up to the hospital at the Jubilee Oak in Braddan.  At the hospital roundabout, take the first exit along Braddan Road.  At the next roundabout (Strang Stores) take the third exit into Ballaoates Road.  Take the first right turn, onto the western side of the hospital campus.  Drive past the Estates department (Ballamona Farmhouse) and take the turning to the right, immediately after the Estates Department.  This is a very small road that will take you down the back of the Newlands building.  The surgery is about 300 metres along this lane, on your right.  Route shown in red on the diagram above.

There is a dedicated car park for surgery patients.  PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE STAFF PARKING AREA.

This is the lane to take immediately after the Estates Department from Ballaoates road end.

By Bus:

There are three bus stops near to the surgery.  Two are on Braddan Road and one by the private patients ward.  From the private patients ward stop, facing away from the hospital and towards Newlands, the surgery is directly in front of you, just behind Newlands, and is approximately 2 minutes walk.  Palatine Doctors

Entrance to footpath from Braddan Road
From the Braddan Road bus stops, go towards the footpath leading to the surgery from Braddan Road which starts opposite the Cronk Grianagh Bungalows and can be located by the metal barrier which marks the junction to the pavement.  The footpath is shown on the diagram by a blue dotted line.  Using this footpath, the bus stop near the Strang Stores roundabout is a 2½ minute walk away and the bus stop which is nearer to the hospital roundabout is a 2 minute walk.
